Aoede

Aoede (A-E-D) in Greek mythology was the first "muse of song." And I, Lisa Sniderman, singer-songwriter for Aoede, chose this name to inspire you and to remember to continually be inspired...I draw inspiration from my own life experiences, many muses and aspire to transfer this inspiration to you. When you listen to my songs, expect compelling stories of love, loss and longing spilling out-intended to take you, shake you and wake you. It's About YOU and your connection to me-in ways that make you feel and experience parts of yourself. Maybe after listening, you experience some part of your own self that you forgot about. Propelled by our desire to connect with audiences, Aoede formed an indie *pop rock* band in 2005 comprised of San Francisco trio Lisa Sniderman, David Sands, and John Walden. About Aoede's album Push and Pull: pushes the envelope, pulls you in, pulls at your heart... ".....as I find myself being whisked away by the sounds of Aoede I need a copy of Push and Pull in the house, in the vehicle, in the studio and in my head all the time. I've added this gem to my own personal favorite collection, but then you will too once you've treated your ears to this masterpiece! Just remember....A-E-D!" (KRIM Radio) "multi-faceted and intensely engaging...Sniderman's vocal is electrifying" (Luna Kafe record review) "Aoede is the rare breed of artist who can shatter the pre-conceived notions and prejudices of the audience, enrapturing the crowd." The Jon Rubin Group

A fingerpicking blues guitarist teams with award-winning guest players on acoustic strings: violin, mandolin, bass. The resulting duo or trio serves up an original acoustic fusion sound -- blending blues, folk, and celtic with a pinch of classical and jazz - that's long on musicianship and the natural flavors of wood and steel. Their eclectic playlist runs the gamut from British folk to Americana country gospel blues to celtic fiddle tunes. Since last May The Jon Rubin Group has been performing steadily from Monterey to Santa Cruz to San Francisco, earning return invites just about everywhere and gaining the marquee (twice) of nationally-renowned S.F. blues venue Biscuits&Blues. Jon Rubin's inspiration and love for fingerstyle guitar began with former Hot Tuna and Jefferson Airplane guitarist, Jorma Kaukonen. But it wasn't the music of the psychedelic era that primarily touched Rubin; it was Kaukonen's gospel blues style -- based on the legendary Rev. Gary Davis -- from Hot Tuna's first acoustic album, recorded live at New Orleans House in Berkeley in 1970. Jon has studied and attended workshops with legendary fingerstyle players Martin Simpson, Woody Mann, Duck Baker, Rick Ruskin, Laurence Juber and Bob Brozman.

Turning Point

TURNING POINT has been performing for audiences all over the SF Bay Area for several years. The band's original music is a combination of catchy melodies, thought-proviking lyrics, and a rock 'n roll edge. Their sound was influenced by contemporary artists such as 3 Doors Down, Matchbox 20, and Collective Soul as well as classic rock heroes including The Who and The Rolling Stones. In fact, Turning Point occasionally pays homage to these influential artists by performing some of their hits during their live show.

Lead singer, Tom Sadzeck, combines his rich and powerful voice with the sweet tone of his acoustic guitar. Holding down the bottom end on bass guitar, and back up vocals, is San Francisco native Robert Sears. Lead guitarist Steve Michel delivers the crunch and finesse from his Les Paul while drummer Bill Nelson teams with Robert to lay down a solid and tasteful groove. When they're not performing live, Turning Point is recording tracks for a new CD. The band's first release, 'Blueprint', is available for purchase at any of their live shows as well as on CD Baby.

Shannon Bryant

Shannon Bryant's musical journey kick-started in Dublin Ireland during a "find yourself" backpacking trip she took after finishing her degree in philosophy. She cashed in her return ticket home to Canada and started working and singing in a restaurant-piano bar in Dublin. The experience cemented her decision to pursue a career in music and when she returned home six months later she joined her first band, the eleven piece R&B group, "Midnight Soul Revue".

In 2000 Bryant took a leap of faith and moved to San Francisco convinced that it was the right creative environment to continue expanding her music career - it was. March of 2004 brought Shannon to the San Francisco chapter of the Recording Academy, with her demo in her hand, to become a member. As fate would have it, that very day she was selected to perform on stage with Carlos Santana in a tribute to Mickey Hart for the 2004 Recording Academy Governor's Awards. Shannon released her debut full-length album, Oceano in 2007. The release blends Pop, Brazilian, Eastern, and rock rhythms with Bryants intimate vocals. Oceano has aired on CBC Radio across Canada and was one of Mark Rheaumes top picks for 2007 on CBCs, Fresh Air. She is currently working on her next CD.

"This extraordinary indie arist tells a story of all the beauty that is to come-both in the world at large and in her own musical journey." Brian Ball, Music Editor

"A soulful and intelligently delightful swim in an exquisite vocal experience. I feel well and all smiley faced about the musicianship and sometimes poignant and therapeutic lyrics." James Cervantes, KWVA-Eugene, OR

He plays classical music, Chinese melodies, Celtic songs, children songs, American folk songs and his original melodies. He has been very lucky to be able to relay those passionate, inspirational and delightful melodies to audiences using his two special instruments.

Trash Can Trio

From origins unknown, assembled in the bay area of California, these three classless, gentlemen came together to form the acoustic compost heap, Trash Can Trio. With 10 strings, strange rings and a penchant for hitting things, they utilize many different styles as a base for their original material they like to call Folk, Blues, Jazz Rubbish.

Their debut album "What do I see" was released in June 2010 one year after their formation. Being avid enthusiasts of the performing art of busking they can also be found performing their music in the streets.

The original Trash Can material was begun by Adam Werstein as a solo artist. While studying music in college the second member was found in fellow music student Scott Yost. With Adam on guitar, vocals, kazoo, and harmonica, Scott on the upright bass and Dalyn Barnes playing percussion on pots, pans, chains and washboard; the trio was complete. All members are seasoned performers of various projects and genres. This group thrives on performance, travel, and expanding musical ideas; as well as socially conscious commentary, such as: "Slaughterhouse Waltz", a demented waltz with haunting kazoo exploring the meat industry; "Sweatshop Blues", a Woody Guthrie style commentary on sweatshops; and "What do I see", a rural blues lament observing the American political system.

With roots in the past and eyes to the future, Trash Can Trio aims to bring cultured, consciousness to the people through fine unspoiled music.
